Who was he?
Martin Luther was a German monk and a Catholic priest. He was against the Roman Catholic church's idea that if you sinned you can buy your way back into heaven. This was called selling indulgences. Jan Hus also believed that this was wrong and was with the protest against the Roman Catholic church. He founded the Lutheran religion.
How did he impact the present?
The 95 Theses
Martin Luther nailed the 95 Theses to the door of the Roman Catholic church. The 95 Theses included all the problems he and the protesters had with the Roman Catholic church. He did this in Wittenburg, Germany in 1517. This made a huge impact on the present, now we have different religions who broke away from the Roman Catholic church.
