9 More Weeks To Go!
We hope you all had a great spring break! We are now in the home stretch, and only have 8 more Mondays left of school!!! This time will fly by, so we wanted to update everyone on events happening in April.
- Report cards will be mailed home on Friday, April 14.
- AP exams will begin in May. If you have not paid for your AP exam, your counselor will speak with you as the exam has been cancelled. If you have any questions, please see your counselor.
- AP pre-administration will be on Tuesday, April 25th. All students taking an AP exam will come to this assembly to fill out their personal information for test day.
- We are finishing our rising seniors meetings by April 21st. If you have any questions about your course request for next year, please contact your counselor.
- All counselors are running groups this semester. Group topics will include stress/anxiety, first-generation college, conflict resolution, and self-esteem, just to name a few. If you are interested in joining one of our groups, please see your school counselor.
- Seniors: we have added a TON of scholarships to our website! Check them out: https://wjccschools.org/lhs/counseling/scholarships-financial-aid/.
- The annual Walkout for the Cure is during 4th block on Friday, April 21st.

Lafayette School Counseling Department
The mission of the Lafayette High School counseling program aligns with the school mission, which is: to educate its diverse population, providing our students with the tools to become knowledgeable, productive, and resourceful members of a global society. School counselors, as professional advocates, will provide a comprehensive counseling program in order to address the academic, social/emotional, and career needs of all students. In addition, school counselors will promote mindsets and behaviors that enhance the learning process and create a culture of college and career ready students well prepared to meet the challenges and high expectations of the 21st century. The school counselors will facilitate a positive, supportive, and culturally sensitive program that will promote a school community that is a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for all. School counselors will lead a collaborative effort to design, implement, assess, and continuously improve the comprehensive data driven school counseling program.
