Good Evening Mayfield!

I want to shout out to our excellent teachers and staff here at Mayfield Intermediate School as we conclude National Teacher Appreciation Week! This past week, we focused on showering praise and appreciation onto our teachers for their job every day educating the children of Manassas City. Teacher appreciation week is always a fun time to be creative and think of different ways to show teachers how much we care about them, but it should not stop after this week. Please always take the time to reach out to your child's teacher and give them a friendly little pat on the back, and thank them for all that they have done for your child and will continue to do throughout the remainder of the year.

This past week was also National Nurse Appreciation Day. The Covid-19 Pandemic has taught us a lot and made us realize many things. One of the most important things that we learned in the past two years is how precious our nurses are for maintaining our healthy and safe learning environments.

Here at Mayfield Intermediate School, we are blessed to have Nurse Jessyca Robinson at Mayfield keeping her eye on the health of our community. Nurse Robinson has established an excellent relationship with our students, staff, and community. I can't thank her enough for all that she has done for me throughout the past four years, and I look forward to working with her for years to come.

We also have an excellent Certified Nursing Assistant at Mayfield Intermediate School. Ms. Benkemsal has supported our clinic throughout this school year and will continue to be our CNA next year for the 2022-2023 school year. She has been amazing and is always ready to come to support our students and staff.

Upcoming SOL Schedule

All students have completed their reading SOL. Our 5th-grade students have completed their science SOL. All students have one SOL assessment remaining before we begin administering our expedited retakes for students who have scored between 375-399 on their SOL.
