Arrival in Carpool
WE want to thank you all for your patience and care during the carpool line in the AM. Some logistics we want to share:
- There are 8 cones, please pull up to the next available cone (unless you are awaiting a support staff member).
- Safety patrol students will assist opening doors & will welcome you all with a "It's a great day to be a Weatherford Eagle". Please kindly respond.
- Our lane is very narrow, please wait behind the car in front of you unless directed by a staff member. We will help direct the traffic flow.
- We discourage parking on Mollimar street. To ensure safety, please park in the South parking lot and walk your child to the front of the building.
Who are all these teachers standing outside?
- WE have support teachers awaiting students to help walk in. We appreciate your kindness as support staff assist students at cone 5 and cone 6 (closer to the door entrance).

Library News
Week of November 1, 2021 Library News
New Library Schedule
We have a new library schedule. Students will come to the library during their teacher’s grade level extended planning or a scheduled day.
Monday-PreK
Tuesday- 2nd grade classes and extended planning and third grade extended planning class
Wednesday- third grade classes, 4th and 5th extended planning class
Thursday - 4th and 5th classes and 1st grade classes
Friday-Kindergarten classes and extended planning and first grade extended planning class
Holiday Breaks and Books
When there is a longer holiday break, the students will not be checking out a book. This is to prevent books being lost over the vacation. There will be no books checked out the week before Thanksgiving break or the week before Winter Break.
Kinder-Second:
We are continuing to learn how to be a good digital citizen. We reviewed the information from last week. Private information is your name/login/phone number. These are not shared online. We also do not share our 6 digit library/lunch number. This week we continued by watching a video from Common Sense Media - “My Online Neighborhood.” We learned the three rules: 1. Only talk to people we know, 2. Get permission first, 3. Stay on sites that are just right for us.
Third-Fifth:
Last week, we reviewed information from prior years. This week we watched and discussed two videos from Common Sense Media. The first was on Cyberbullying. Just like bullying, cyberbullying is not okay. Our second video was about reliable resources. How can you tell if it is a good site to use? How to avoid ads and clickbait? They were also introduced to our digital citizenship choice board which we will use next week.
Library Books
It is very important that the students remember to return their library books before their scheduled library day. If the book is not returned the student will be unable to check out a new book.
Library Books
Pre-K, Kinder, and First grade will check out one book.
Second, third, fourth, and fifth graders will get two books.
In order to check out a book the following week, the current book must be checked in.
A good rule of practice is to return the library book the day before your library day. There will be a book crate in their hallways for book returns. I will collect the books and check them in prior to the next meeting.
Automated Overdue Library Notice Phone Messaging- There will be an automated phone call/email that goes out on November 8 and December 6 reminding parents that students have overdue library books. If you receive a call/email, please help your child locate his/her library books so they can be returned. If you are unsure what books are missing you can use this link to show you how to look up the account or you can contact me at dana.cruz@pisd.edu.
What do I have checked out? Students can always check their library account to find out what books they currently have checked out. Use this link to go to the Library home page. Then on the right hand side go to Library Links and select What Do I Have Checked Out? A PDF will walk you through the process of seeing what library books are checked out.Office Reminders
Parents please have your child bring a water bottle and a healthy snack. Water fountains are not in use, but we do have a water bottle filler.
Please call school or contact teachers on Class DoJo before 2pm if there are any changes to the student's dismissal.
Free Breakfast and Lunch for all students
