Dahlstrom Middle School
First Week of School is here!!!!
First Week of School
We are beyond excited to kick off the new school year!!! We had so much fun at the parade, thank you to all of those who were able to make it! We miss our kiddos and are excited to see everyone!! Our teachers have been hard at work during their first week back. They have been planning fun and interactive activities for the first week of school! You should have received an email today with a short presentation of Meet the Teacher. In this presentation, you will be able to find your student's teachers and their zoom information for Tuesday. There is time built into the first week for teachers to help students learn and explore the features of Schoology. Students will also be taught how to log in to Schoology, how to find and submit assignments, and how to ask for assistance. I know there are a lot of questions about Schoology and maybe even a little stress, but we are here to help students navigate this new learning system. The district has sent an email this evening about Schoology and if any additional updates or information are pushed out over the weekend, our teachers will either reach out to you via email or they may wait and just help students walk through the process and any potential changes on Tuesday.
That being said, other schools in central Texas ran into some technical difficulties during their first week of online learning this school year. I am hopeful we do not run into any of these issues as a campus or as a district. However, if that does happen, we are all in it together. Patience and grace will be given, students won't be penalized, this is a time to support each other and let any potential snafus get resolved in a timely manner. Please do not stress!! If we do run into any issues, we will work through them together!
We are going to kick off next week with a #firstdayofschool photo challenge! Please share your first day of school photos with us on our DMS Facebook and tag #WeAreDahlstrom
At the end of my letter, there are a bunch of images with links. Please check these weekly, as they are connected to the various activities and clubs. You just need to click on the ones your student is involved in to receive the most up to date information for that organization.

Mrs. Ginn
