Jag News
Weekly Updates for Feb 15 - 26
Message from the Principal
Good afternoon Jags!
This past week has been a challenge for everyone as we dealt with power and water outages in many of our Johnson neighborhoods. As we warm back up, we hope everyone is getting back to normal and doing okay.
The 6 week Progress Report will be available in Skyward Student & Family Access on Wednesday. We have two weeks left in the 3rd nine weeks so please continue to keep up with your grades and attendance.
As a reminder, all attendance from last week, 2/15-19, is being waived by the State due to the winter storm. The District is working on correcting everything in Skyward but it will take a few days.
Please be sure to read below regarding the Presidential Volunteer Service Award information and how to pay for AP exams. Counselors are meeting with freshmen students this week through their English classes. At this time counselors will review and advise course selections with each student.
Sincerely,
Gary Comalander - Principal

CTJ Regional VASE Results!
This weekend several Johnson art students participated in the Visual Arts Scholastic Event. 1588 pieces were entered into this regional event, and a total of 1487 pieces were juried. Of those judged entries, Johnson student works made up a total of 186. While the vast majority of Johnson students medaled for their work, we are especially excited to have a total of 21 pieces moving on to the State VASE competition, setting a new record for the number of Johnson works sent to State! There were a total of 126 pieces selected for this year's State event, meaning Johnson artwork made up about 17% of the awarded works!
While we want to recognize all of our participating students, we wish to especially congratulate those who have had pieces chosen for State.
