Water is one of the main nutrients needed by your body, which makes it one of the most healthful beverages.
The bottled water comes in many forms
spring water comes from an underground spring.
Contains dissolved minerals such as calcium, magnesium, sodium, and bicarbonates.
Naturally sparkling water
this is naturally carbonated water, this means bubbly from dissolved carbon dioxide.
Purified drinking water
Is processed to remove impurities and to add or remove minerals for health and taste. It is usually made with ground water or tap water.

- NUTRIENTS IN JUICE:
Juices are among the most nutritious of all beverages. Some juices are fortified with nutrients such as vitamins A and D and calcium.
- JUICE DRINKS:
A juice drink is a blend of 10 to 50% juice with water, sweeteners, flavorings, and other additives.
A fruit-flavored drink is a drink that tastes like a juice but doesn’t have any juice. Fruit flavored drinks are made with water, sweeteners, and flavorings that give a fruitlike flavor.
Coffee is made from the coffee bean, the twin seeds of a deep-red fruit produced by the coffee plant. The seeds are fermented, dried, and graded according to size. The beans are then roasted and brewed.
TYPES OF COFFEE BEANS:
- Arabica beans: produce finest flavor.
- Robusta beans: they have less flavor than Arabica’s but twice as much caffeine.
Coffees from different countries and regions have different flavors and levels of acidity.
CAFFEINE IN COFFEE:
Coffee is one of many beverages that contain caffeine. Caffeine is a natural stimulant that effects the nervous system, heart, and kidneys. Coffee, tea, chocolate, and cocoa have naturally occurring caffeine. Other drinks have caffeine added during manufacturing, and other are decaffeinated, is when the caffeine is removed.
- American is a medium roast that produces a moderate flavor.
- French produces a stronger coffee.
- Italian is considered the darkest roast for coffee.
Coffee trees produce berries that contain the beans used to make coffee. Each berry contains two beans.
Different taste and appearance of tea:
- Black tea: It has a dark brew with a well-developed flavor.
- Green tea: it is a light, greenish-yellow tea with a slightly bitter flavor.
- Oolong tea: It has a color and a flavor between those of black and green teas.
You can make stronger or weaker tea by shortening or lengthening the time you allow the tea to brew.
- Brewing black and oolong tea:
to make black or oolong tea, heat fresh, cold water in a teakettle to a rolling boil. pour the boiling water over the tea and let the tea steep, or brew, in the hot water for about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Brewing green tea:
the water should be just below the boiling point. Steep the green tea for a shorter time than other teas, usually about 1 1/2 minutes.
Herb tea is a beverage made from the flowers, leaves, seeds, and roots of herbs and plants other than the tea plant. For example mint , chamomile, raspberry, or orange peel.

HOT CHOCOLATE AND HOT COCOA
Hot chocolate and hot cocoa are two most popular beverages made with chocolate and milk. Chocolate is a liquid from cacao beans,the seeds from the pods of cacao trees. People learned to separate a fat called cocoa butter from the chocolate liquid, leaving solids known as cocoa powder.
is made with solid, unsweetened chocolate. Combine chopped or ground, unsweetened chocolate with milk in a saucepan.
is made with cocoa, a product of cocoa powder. Cocoa has less fat than solid chocolate, so it blends more easily with hot liquid and is less likely to separate.
If stored in a hot or humid area, chocolate may develop a bloom. Bloom is patches of white caused by cocoa butter that has come to surface. Bloom also can be caused by the crystallization of sugar.
SOFT DRINKS AND PUNCH
SOFT DRINKSSoft drinks are sweet, carbonated beverages. Flavored soft drinks are made with water and additives that may inlcude artificial flavorings and colorings, sweeteners, acidifiers for tartness, and sodium.
A punch is a mixture of fruit juices and tea or carbonated beverage such as ginger ale or seltzer water. Sherbet, ice cream, or fruit may also be added. Punch may also be mulled, or served hot and flavored with such spices as cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves.
