Message from the Principal - Mr. Efa Huckaby

Greetings Warrior Families,

First day of school is Thursday, August 15th with our Week of Welcome (WOW)! Our Warriors have the opportunity to build relationships with peers and staff though activities, workshops and getting familiar with the Warrior Way. On Friday, August 16th students will have the opportunity to meet community members from different resources, interact with peers while they learn about these programs. We will conclude our WOW on Monday, August, 19th with a keynote speaker. Here at YVHS, our goal is to have our Warriors BE READY, BE RESPONSIBLE, SHOW INTEGRITY, that's The Warrior Way!

Please see the attach schedule for Thursday and Friday since the bell schedule is different for this week. Also, please see our UPDATED 2019 Bell Schedule as we have a change on our lunch time, this year YVHS will have ONE lunch.

Thank you to all parents who volunteered and have signed up to volunteer on future Warrior school events. This is a great way to meet other families but to also show love and support to your child and our Warrior Community! Go WARRIORS!

Back to School Night

SchoolPool Free Bus Passes for Students

This program encourages students in grades 6-12 to use public transit to and from school. The Central and East Contra Costa County SchoolPool program offers complimentary introductory bus passes for up to three (3) students per household.

Warrior Parents All the Way!

Parent involvement is an essential part for student success. At YVHS, we are fortunate to have families who dedicate their time in order to bring the Warrior Spirit, support our students through fundraising events, field trips, scholarships, teachers, parent involvement, donations and much more! We want to have you be part of the Warrior family, we hope to see you at any of the following meetings (Spanish translation is available).

The following parent committees invite you to the school year and their meetings:

  • PTSA - Second Monday of the month at 7pm in the Library
  • Music Boosters - Second Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm Music Band Room
  • Athletic Boosters - Second Wednesdays of the month at 7pm in the library
  • ELAC- Second Wednesday of the month at 6pm in the library
  • School Site Council - First Monday of the month at 3: 15pm in the Wellness Center
