Welcome to the New InnerViews!

Been missing InnerViews? It's back, and with a whole new look! GISD's leadership team has been working behind the scenes to update the look, content, and delivery method of GISD's InnerViews staff newsletter. Staff input has been incorporated into the reshaping of this internal communication tool, and we look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions. Send them any time to

This staff newsletter has been a GISD tradition for over 30 years and will continue to include news and information important to GISD's hardworking and dedicated staff!

GISD Continuous Improvement Update

Thank you for your energy and efforts as we continue to navigate our way toward continuous improvement! We are seeing the propeller in buildings, on desks, and on walls as a reminder of our work and the desire to move forward. To keep you in the loop, the Communication Crew is developing multiple tools that will be coming your way soon!

In the future, you will find periodic Navigator News in InnerViews to help keep all staff informed of the district's progress and initiatives relating to its continuous improvement goals.

Your Chance to Experience GISD Onboarding!

By now, many of you know that for the past year or so Onboarding has been provided to new employees. Onboarding serves as way to educate new GISD employees on all of the services that our organization provides to the community, and introduces them to many GISD procedures and practices.

The Reboarding process started in January 2014 so that existing employees can also participate in this rewarding experience. The goal is that all employees who are interested in Reboarding can take advantage of this opportunity to experience all the great things we do at the GISD! See your program administrator to sign up for an upcoming session.

Familiarize Yourself with the GISD Style and Procedures Guide

Browse the GISD Style and Procedures guide to learn about our organization's preferences, guidelines, and procedures when communicating internally, externally, and online. The guides tips and resources will help to ensure you are representing GISD in the most professional and correct manner possible. Look for the guide on GISD's shared network drive, which is often referred to by staff as the "P" drive. Questions about the guide can be directed to GISD's Communications and Development department at (810) 591-4541 or email to
