CHS Family Update
5/15/20
In The Know
Graduation - I was very excited to be able to share the graduation plan for our Seniors earlier this week. Despite our quarantine climate, we are making plans for supporting our Seniors. We have been working with a video production company to create a virtual graduation complete with speeches, performances, and the reading of names. Additionally, we are excited that there will be a live graduation event for our Seniors down the road. It is the best moved we could have hoped for considering our circumstances.
Cap and Gown Pick Up - We will also be supporting an opportunity for students to have a drive through cap and gown pick up procession on 5/28 from 1:30-3:30pm. All in one drive through event we will be accepting technology drop off, textbook drop off, Cap and Gown pick up with medals, cords, stoles, and pictures from a professional will be taken and offered to every family. You can pick up your cap and gown anytime between 10:00am and 12:00 noon, Monday - Thursday after the 28th. We will send details for the event soon, but the gist is that we will be entering the driveway from 18th street, proceed in front of the school and exit onto Bailey Hill. Stay tuned for the details. We're very excited.
Attendance This Week - Families, it is possible that you might receive an automated dialer regarding your students attendance this week. The reason for this is that your student did not connect with their teacher digitally. Really all they need to do is make contact with the teacher through email, office hours or Google classroom in a way that the teacher knows the student is participating. it is akin to fogging the digital mirror. Additionally, this is a short week in that teachers are grading for mid terms this week and will have no student contact on Friday. If your student made contact with a teacher on Friday their attendance will roll over into next week, but you still might get a call. Our apologies for any inconvenience this might cause. Four more weeks.

Thank You Residents of Cascade Manor
"4J's idea to honor 2020 graduates who were missing their ceremonies captured the imagination of residents of Cascade Manor, a long-term care facility. We decided to make porch lights on Fridays into a community effort. A group of 45 residents of one part of the facility gathered on their porches with the light on and formed '20s' with their hands (two fingers on the right, a fist on the left) for these photos. We offer the members of the very special class of 2020 our warmest congratulations and wishes for bright futures."
