What Did You Read Last Night?

We are bringing back a blast from the past! For the month of May, we are encouraging you and your child to read, read, read. To make the experience even more fun, your child will earn a GOTCHA for each day that they tag @EastElementarySchoolCullman on Facebook and post a picture of themselves reading a book. If you don't have Facebook, attach your picture to an email and send it to Principal Wiggins at dwiggins@cullmancats.net.

The link below is from the 2006 CCS initiative What Did You Read Last Night?. The song is performed by retired EES Teacher Mrs. Cindy Pass with piano accompaniment by Mr. Tim Clemmons. Enjoy!

Unfinished Business

We know that you have a lot of questions. We are working on answers. We are presently working on plans for the following:

  • Pick-up of student materials (desk supplies, lost and found, etc.)
  • Return of library and/or classroom books
  • Pick-up of yearbooks and/or spring pictures (No, they have not arrived yet.)
  • If we are not able to allow for the pick-up of student materials by May 22, report cards will be mailed home at the end of the school year. Honor Roll & Perfect Attendance certificates will be included, as well.

Planning Ahead

In planning for the 2020-2021 school year, there is a set of criteria taken into account to ensure that each class is equal in student distribution. While we make every effort to place your child in an environment that will be optimal for success, we understand that each child is unique. As each teacher is a professional educator that meets the requirements to fulfill the mission at East Elementary School, we will not honor teacher requests nor denials; however, if there is information that will be beneficial regarding your child’s placement (learning style, personality, friendships, history with teacher, etc.) please share that with Principal Wiggins in writing, via letter or e-mail, by May 22. We will take any information you provide in consideration of placement. Class assignments, when mailed, are final; and, no changes will be allowed. It is our hope to have class placements mailed by June 19.

BE EXCELLENT, EVERY DAY IN EVERY WAY!

YOU ARE IN BEAST MODE! We are all so proud of our students! They are showing their excellence through class participation. Through your efforts as parents and grandparents, you are teaching life lessons far beyond academia. You deserve a pat on the back and a high-five, too.
