Here's what we are working on...

Reading - We will talking about setting and story events in fables and fairy tales.

Math - We will review our measurement unit on Monday and then have a test on Tuesday. We will begin our unit on time on Wednesday.

Writing - We finished up our trophy opinion pieces this week. We also started our new opinion piece about their favorite vacation spot.

Science - This week, we reviewed our solar system unit with a jeopardy powerpoint. This will be uploaded to eClass so that your child can study at home. Your child also brought home their interactive notebook today to use as an additional study tool. Students will be tested over this unit on Thursday, Feb. 11th. We will start our new unit on Force and Motion the next day. We are moving right along!!

Grammar - We will learn about prefixes such re-.

Spelling/Word Study - We will test on Friday, February 19th, over the word patterns -or, -ur, -ir. Our anchor words are girl, word, curve, board, and hurt.

The sight words tested will be long, down, day, did, get, come, made, may, part, over.

Super Dad Super Bowl Party

Thank you to everyone who could attend this morning. We had a great time and the students were so happy to share their learning and a little fun with you!! Enjoy watching the Super Bowl this weekend!!

***Mark your calendars for February 12 Movie Night 5:30 – 9:00

Parents don’t miss the chance to have a Friday night to celebrate Valentine’s Day early with a relaxing dinner out while your child has fun watching “Hotel Transylvania 2” under the supervision of our wonderful PMES teachers. This event is sponsored by PMES Relay for Life. Students will have fun and receive pizza and a drink all for only $15 per student. ($10 for each additional siblings.) The form is posted on the PMES website and is due by Monday, Feb. 8.


***Recess: Please be aware that county policy states that we cannot go out to recess if the temperature is below 40 degrees. However, if it is above 40 degrees, we will go out to recess. Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for colder weather.


*** The Six Flags Reading Log - If your child reads for six hours before Feb. 12, then they can get a free ticket to Six Flags!! Please be sure to have minutes and hours added up before your child turns in their log.


Please remember to send in library books on your child's class library day. The class library days are:

Lord - Monday

Moore - Monday

Queen - Tuesday

Pendergast - Wednesday

Kamhout - Wednesday

Duncan - Thursday
