What did our teachers do on their Professional Learning Day?

Teachers analyzed the new 3R's literacy assessment students in grade 2 to grade 9 completed recently along with the Accountability Pillar survey completed by parents, students and teachers last Spring. The results of the analysis will be used as part of the School Improvement Plan (S.C.I.P.) for the year.

Learning in ACTION

Mr. Meier's Art Class

The Grade 5/6 used the marionettes to learn about gesture drawing. Gesture drawing allows for quick sketches that looks at the human form, and how it’s portions. Students used marionettes to make different poses and then test their skills with live models. Students had a blast modelling for their classmates.

Halloween - Spooky Fun

Halloween is always a fun time for staff and students. With our current COVID-19 protocols, we have made some adjustments to stay safe and still enjoy Halloween. Students are encouraged to wear their costumes on Friday, October 30th. Our Halloween parade will be virtual, meaning each class will still have the opportunity to show off their costumes in their classrooms via Google Meet to everyone in the school. Depending on weather, the parade my take place outside following protocols and social distancing of our cohort groups. This will be determined nearing the end of the week.

*Special thank you to the Niton Central Fundraising Society for supporting each classroom in the purchase of food items.
