Our weekly electronic newsletter supports the communication and learning community at PS 107. We welcome any ideas or information to enhance our weekly newsletter.


Weekly Highlights

  • RUNNING RECORDS were DUE to Ms. Otto 10/9/15. Please use template provided and send via email to Ms. Otto no later than close of business 10/13/15.


** PS 107X is planning a fall festival for Friday 10/30/15. If any staff is interested in being part of the organizing committee, please see Miss Najera. Let's work together for a fun event!**


  • All STAFF must be at their Morning post at 8:00am and Dismissal post at 2:10 pm.
  • Period 7 ends at 2:10 pm ---- Dismissal post is from 2:10pm - 2:20pm
  • Homework should directly reflect daily content covered.
  • All student portfolios should be in the front of the room and labeled.
  • ALL Classroom Teachers MUST have their OWN DAILY lesson plans for ALL Content areas: Math, ELA, Guided Reading, 2nd Math Block, Science, Social Studies.
  • ALL enrichment teachers MUST have lesson plans for each class they service. All other support staff MUST have lesson plans for students they service. This is part of Danielson Standard 1e- Designing Coherent Instruction
  • Bulletin Boards (Inside and Outside) WERE DUE 10/1

This years instructional focus:

1. Guided Instruction in ELA and Math 2. Analyze Data to Drive Instruction

3. Incorporate technology in instruction


Announcements/Reminders:

  • Make sure to check Grade Level Year Scope and Sequence Pacing for beginning/end dates of Units
  • Continue to keep an agenda and minutes of grade level meetings. These must be kept in Grade Binder.
  • Please be mindful we are co-located. Let's be peaceful, pleasant partners in educating the Soundview Community
  • Lunch: K-1: 10:40 a.m / 2-3: 12:25pm / 4-5: 1:20pm
  • Morning line up @ 8:00 a.m. --- K in the Auditorium 1-5: Little Yard
  • End of day dismissal @ 2:10 p.m. for Grades 1-5 is outside in the little yard. K is in the Auditorium. For students safety we must continue to supervise dismissal.

Tuesday 10/13

  • All STAFF must be at their Morning post at 8:00am and Dismissal post at 2:10 pm.
  • Period 7 ends at 2:10 pm ---- Dismissal post is from 2:10pm - 2:20pm
  • NTN- Math Support: Tracy will be visiting classes during Math Instruction... Please see schedule for Math instruction changes. Math support will be provided during Common Prep Periods in grades 3,4,5. Please see the schedule in the main office.
  • Grades 3-5 2:20 - 3:35pm MOSL ELA Grading in Room 405
  • Parent Engagement 2:20pm - 3:30 pm--- Grade 3: Room 428 "How to help your Child's Reading"

  • Book Baggies: All students should have book baggies with just right books: 5 books max levels A-K / 3 books max levels L-Z--- Check students books for accuracy.
  • All classrooms should have students reading levels and book shopping days posted.
  • As you greet our rockets this week please remember to greet our learners with kindness, organized, colorful, learning environments and with honest preparation for becoming literate, mathematicians, scientists, historians, critical thinkers willing and able to solve world problems, in other words PLAN, meaningful, productive interactive, and engaging lessons
