Thank you for making Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week special in the forest! We appreciate your support for our staff. Congrats to Mrs. Johnson and our Math Counts team who won 3rd place in the district competition this week!

Please note our upcoming events in the forest. Kindergarten registration will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday and our Spring Fling will take place Friday night from 5-7 pm.

Step-Up Night will be held on May 19. This is an opportunity for you to visit teachers/classes for next year. Parents and students can learn about what to expect in 16/17.

Mrs. Glover will be hosting a used book drive this week. The books collected will be used for a free book fair at the end of the school year. Help us collect books to give out to students before summer! The class that collects the most used books will win an ice cream party.

National Elementary Honor Society Service Project

Our National Elementary Honor Society students are spearheading a supply drive for children in Venezuela as their yearly service project. Right now, the economy in Venezuela is really struggling and infant supplies are in great demand. The hospitals do not have basic supplies to care for the infants that are born/sick in their hospital and many are not getting better. Mrs. Acevedo, our 2nd grade SPLASH teacher, is going home this summer to Venezuela and we would like to help her by sending her with supplies to help these babies. The supplies in the greatest demand are:

• Diapers

• Formula

• Bottles

• Wipes

• Small baby onesies

To learn a little bit more about this project/need, please see, an organization that helps to ship the supplies over to Venezuela.

Let’s help Mrs. Acevedo proudly take blessings collected from our school back to her country!

Please turn in supplies to Mrs. Askins by May 16, 2016.
