SCMS Principal Update

Stuart Russ, SCMS Principal

Principal Update 10/4/19

Welcome to Fall, and the Month of Pumpkin Spice!!!

  1. The Student Council Fundraiser Kickoff took place on Monday, September 30th. Forms and money are due back on October 14th.

  2. 6th grade students will be rotating to a new exploratory class next Tuesday!

  3. The end of the first grading period is October 11th. Students earn semester grades at SCMS. The grade at the end of each grading period is a snapshot of what the student has earned up to that particular point in time in the semester.

  4. Parents, please remember that earbuds were placed on this year's school supply list. Earbuds can (and should) be utilized by students as they work on Exact Path during Hawk Time. Please make sure your student brings this item with them to school.

  5. Our PTO makes a difference, and we need your help! Please consider volunteering for our concession stand. Click this link to sign up. You do not need to be a member of our PTO to still volunteer. Money earned from our concession stands directly impacts students at SCMS.

  6. The Fall Clothing Exchange will take place at SCMS on October 12th. The event runs from 9:00 AM- 12:00 PM. Please see the attached information below.

  7. Picture retake day has been moved from October 16th to October 21st, retakes begin at 8:00 AM.

  8. I will be out of the office for the next couple of weeks, as my wife recently gave birth to our fourth child (our first daughter). Please be sure to include Dr. Watson (watsonr@shawanoschools.com) in any communication with me so that he can help resolve any issues that may arise while I am out.
