Academic Class Information

Language Arts

This week we worked on using our new reading strategy called the Close Reading Strategy. Students will be given one "Article of the Week" to practice this strategy with each week. This week our article was on "Yellow Fever Attacks" which ties in with the content in our new anchor text Fever, 1793. Students are REQUIRED to read their article of the week 3 times, each time doing something different with the article.
All Articles can be found on my webpage under 7th Grade Documents. They are identified by the title of the article for that particular week. Novels will be checked out to students by next week.
1st and 3rd periods were assigned a Think Tac Toe choice board for upcoming projects. They are given 9 options and must choose 2 projects from those choices to complete. The due date is December 18th and one of the two must be presented to the class.
2nd and 4th period will receive project information in two weeks.
