Principal's Message: Dream Big Bonsall West and ride with pride!
Hello Bonsall West parents!
Our students continue to astound us with their growth on the District i-ready assessments. Our students made phenomenal growth! One student made 967% of typical growth in one year! We had our first ever student leadership day on Tuesday. This fun event was completely child planned and child led under the supervision of Miss Andy, our school counselor. There was a celebrity game show theme that our entire student body participated in. The energy level was electric! Our 6th graders performed an Egyptian history themed play on Wednesday. It was so much fun! The 3rd grade went on a field trip on Thursday. Also, this week, our top competitors competing in the District Tomlinson games. Our students were amazing competitors and showed amazing character. They cheered not just their classmates and school mates on, but the students from the other schools! We swept 5 of the races, meaning we came in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place! We also have numerous events where students placed 1st/2nd. We are proud of all of our students for competing!
We have our Mellano Farm event on Friday, 5/19 from 5-8 p.m. This is a free event.

Habit 7
Habit 7: Sharpen the saw
Balance feels better. This habit focuses on taking time for yourself and caring for yourself because it gives you the ability to do everything else. The principles are renewal, continuous improvement and balance. Daily, achieve the daily private victory, overcome obstacles and focus on tge body, mind, heart and spirit.
At Bonsall West Elementary School we are focusing on the Leader in Me to build lifelong leadership skills. We want our students to focus on the 7 habits: 1. feel empowered to be proactive and be in charge of themselves,2. set goals and begin with the end in mind,3. focus on work first then play with put first things first, 4. have an abundance mindset and think win win, 5. listen to our peers and seek first to understand , then be understood, 6.work collaboratively and synergize and 7. have school work/life balance and sharpen the saw. We have attached a couple of resource that explains the paradigm shifts that we focus on as well as the habits we focus on.
