3rd Law of motion
By: Shana Johnson
Description
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction
A fireman turning on his hose to put out the fire and being knocked backwards.
Another example is when two people are pushing, one pushes on the other and the other pushes on them.
Feet pushing down on the ground and in tun the ground pushes up at your feet when you're walking.
How we use it
When i'm swimming, my body is pushing against the water with my arms and legs and the water pushes back, moving me forwards. When i go walking i push backwads on the Earth with my feet, and the Earth pushes me forward. Another example is me firing a gun which doesn't happen too often, but when i pull the trigger the bullet is fired from the gun with a certain force. There's an equal and opposite force exerted on the gun that goes in a backwards direction. When i'm jumping which i do a lot i am applying a force on the ground, the ground then exerts a force on me which causes me to move upwards.
