“Heart”y Breakfast for Northville Civic Concern
This Valentine’s season Silver Springs will be sharing the love with a “Heart”y breakfast food drive to benefit Northville Civic Concern. The Community Service Action Team will be collecting breakfast food from February 6th through the 10th to help families in our own city. We are asking for you to donate food according to your grade level so that we can have a variety of breakfast items. Also, the grade level that collects the most items will be awarded with a pajama day. It’s a win-win! Please see the list below to know what your grade level has been assigned to. You may put your items in the grade level boxes by the showcase during our collection week. We can’t wait to see Silver Springs synergize to help families start their day with a hearty breakfast this winter!

2nd Quarter Report Card Information
February 1, 2017
Dear Northville School Families,
We are pleased to share that student report cards will soon be available online through the MiStar ParentPortal on the district website. This new service will allow parents with elementary, middle and/or high school students to access and print their child’s report card at any time. Last week, each Northville Public Schools household should have received via the mail login information, along with the link to the MiStar ParentPortal. This is your access to your student’s report cards, progress updates, and so much more.
Report cards for the first semester will be available on the secure ParentPortal beginning Tuesday, February 7, 2017. Below are directions for accessing and printing your student’s report card. If you are having trouble logging into the system; did not receive login information; or have other questions about ParentPortal, please email parentportal@northvilleschools.org. A member of our technology team will respond within 24 hours. Please avoid contacting your child’s school staff, as they do not have access to the information needed to resolve ParentPortal issues.
Again, we are pleased to provide you with easy, online access to your child’s progress through the MiStar ParentPortal. Please contact your child’s teacher or school principal with any questions regarding your student’s academic performance.
Sincerely,
Deanna Barash
Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services

Tuesday, February 7th at 10:00 AM in the Rondelle.
If you are interested in volunteering to assist with this committee, please attend to discuss the details of the event and duties required for the dance. If you are unable to attend and want to volunteer to help, please contact Leslie Cardenas at silversprings.pta.president@gmail.com
We need committed volunteers to put on this dance.
The Silver Springs Yearbook Committee Needs You!
The Silver Springs Yearbook has always been enjoyed by students and parents alike. Unfortunately, there is no Yearbook Committee Chair for next year. The yearbook is in jeopardy unless we have a parent or two step up and take over for the outgoing chair. If you enjoy taking pictures or designing online scrapbooks, please consider volunteering. This is a great way to contribute on your own time, as the bulk of the work is done from home. This is Shawnna's last year at Silver Springs so take advantage of her knowledge and guidance while she is readily available. If you are interested, please email her at biondo_savin@hotmail.com

Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!
Habit #4 - Think Win-Win- Everyone can Win!
What this means: Think about others as well as yourself. Long-term relationships require mutual respect and mutual benefit.
“I make deposits into others’ Emotional Bank Accounts.”
“When conflict arises, I look for third alternatives.”
“I balance courage for getting what I want, with
consideration for what others want.”
How can I do this in my life?
1. Live by the Golden Rule- Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.
