Dear ROE Families,
Currently, our students have been participating in mid-year benchmark testing in both reading and math. I am excited to share that we are already seeing outstanding progress being made; many children are meeting and exceeding their goals. Testing will continue this week. Following, the teachers will utilize this information to determine their next steps with instruction and design lessons to meet the needs of all children.
We are seeing great fluctuation in the temperature from arrival to dismissal. We encourage you to send your child in layers, so that they are prepared to go outside, even during colder weather. Thank you for your support with this.
Our teachers have been participating in professional development and working with district consultants to enhance their classroom practices. Specifically, they have been participating in training sessions to support multi-lingual students. Additionally, they continue to refine their instruction using the Being a Writer program. As a result, our students are benefiting, and we are seeing amazing growth in their writing skills.
As you are aware, our student population continues to grow. At the present time, we have a little over 1200 students. This is significant growth since the school opened in 2012. There are more than 400 cars that participate in the car rider line every morning. Your child’s safety is our priority. Here are some important reminders:
· Parents are to remain in their cars; staff can assist your child.
· Children are to exit on the curb side.
· Adhere to the school speed limit.
· Keep children inside your vehicle when it is moving.
Thank you for your continued support. I wish everyone a very merry holiday season.
Mrs. Cazier
