Cedar Grove Friday Flash
October 20, 2023
Dear Cedar Grove Families,
Thank you to our students and families who participated in the Clarksburg Cluster Night and represented our school in the Parade of Schools! Also, thank you to our PTA for providing an array of pink accessories last Wednesday morning for staff in support of our Pink Out Wednesdays. We truly appreciate everything you do for our school!
Please save the date for our parent visitation/Open House on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 9:30 until 11:00 and again from 2:00 until 3:00. Parents are welcome to come and visit their child's classroom, but please do not bring siblings during this time. During Open House, the blacktop will be open for parking; however, vehicles will need to be removed from the blacktop by 11:15 and 3:15, as students will be going out to recess and will be on the blacktop for dismissal. We hope to see you then!
Each year, families have an opportunity to purchase a piano at reduced prices through an agreement with MCPS and Schaeffer's Piano Company. The sales event will take place between November 11 and 19. For more information, please visit their website at
Have a wonderful weekend!

From Mrs. Hirschhorn, Media Specialist
As we are coming to the most active week in October we're having at Cedar Grove, there is so much information in the October media monthly for you. After our third Pink Out Wednesday, I ask that you keep sending me pictures for our last Pink Out of the year! Of course, we're heading into our Mental Health Spirit Week as well as our Give What You Can Food drive. Did I mention that this coming week is busy? Finally, we will have our Great Pumpkin contest judging on Friday after school, so we hope that you send in your children's entries Friday morning!
