SLS Player Impresses Principal
I got a text from the principal of St. Michael School on 11/7/18. It said, “I was really impressed with your boys last night. Perfect gentlemen!!!” Later that day I saw her in Indianapolis at principal meetings and asked what she was referring to. She explained that one of her players fell during the basketball game the night before. One of our players stopped and helped him up, even though play continued. She was impressed by our student’s compassion and caring.

Giving tree
The SLS Faculty Giving Tree will be offered again this year for those interested in honoring our teachers and staff during the Christmas Season! The Tree will be ready for visitors on Monday, December 3, 2018. Here is how it works:
OPTION 1 (The Tags)
The PTO asks each teacher to list some personal and school items that they would like to receive. Teachers fill out a wish list. Tags are made and displayed on a "tree" bulletin board outside the Kindergarten rooms for parents to select and purchase the item. The tags will stay up until Tuesday, December 18.
OPTION 2 (You want to buy for many teachers)
This option is popular for those families that wish to honor several teachers. Using the attached form, select the teachers you would like to honor, and send it back to the office with any amount. This amount will be divided among the teachers that you select. Please make checks payable to "Batesville Chamber of Commerce", as the teachers will receive Batesville Bucks. Place the form and your check in an envelope marked “Giving Tree” and send to the school office by Friday, December 14th, 2018.
Of course, this program is optional, but it's a great way to maximize your gift giving dollars. The teachers get exactly what they want and you save time!! It's a win win! Thanks for participating in this year's giving tree!
Any questions, please call Amy Tonges at 812-212-6702.
