Music in the Mornings
Music in the Morning is back! We are following our tradition of providing Music in the Morning during the last week of school before Winter Break by offering a performance opportunity for any child who wishes to play on the piano or an instrument of his/her choice. Students will take turns playing their pieces in the front hall from 7:20-7:40 each morning. Your student is invited to perform on the day he/she has music class.
If your student wishes to perform in the lobby, please fill out the form below and return to Ms. Arbolino by Friday, December 11. Scheduling will begin immediately. I will contact you as to which day your child is scheduled to perform. Yearbook Cover Contest and Volunteers
Yearbook Cover Contest
This year the yearbook will have a custom cover created by a student from Hedgcoxe. All students are eligible to submit a hand drawn and colored picture to be the cover of our 2015-2016 yearbook! The cover needs to represent what it means to be a Hedgcoxe Hound. Entries will be accepted until Friday, December 4th. The yearbook coordinators and Ms. Graham will pick the winner out of all of the submissions. We can’t wait to see what the students of Hedgcoxe can come up with!
WANTED: Yearbook Volunteers
Every year a parent in each grade level volunteers to help gather pictures and create the collage pages for the yearbook. If you are interested in being that parent or would like to help get involved with the yearbook, please email Angie Garrison at Angie.Garrison@pisd.edu by Friday, November 20th, to sign up. Students will be MAP testing in Reading.

Students will be practicing the structure of expository compositions next week.
The Spelling test is scheduled for Friday (Soft c and g).
Students will begin Topic 9, Patterns and Equations, where they will gain an understanding of equality, expressions, and equations.
Students will describe the relationship of expressions using words, symbols and tables, to represent real-world context. They will use these relationships to solve problems
Students explore how to stay safe and healthy in order to understand personal decisions and habits affect health throughout life.

- plan a menu of healthy food incorporating a balance of nutrients
- sorts foods based on their nutrients
