Message from the Principal - August 17, 2016

Greetings and Welcome Back!!

All of us at the school are so excited to be back and ready to see the kiddos (and families) coming through those school doors. It has been a busy summer around the building. We are in Phase 2 of a three phase construction project. If you have been following our FB page, many of you have tracked the progress. It is so exciting to see all of this new construction, not just because it is beautiful, but because it means that we are growing as a school and modernizing our building! We have created two beautiful new student bathrooms, as well as additional office space and a new staff bathroom. All of this is to prepare for the elevator that will go in next summer, making our building more accessible to all.

As of today, we have more than 190 students registered to begin school this fall. We have been growing every year, since 2010. Our programs are strong and innovative, preparing children to be the leaders of the 21st century. Our staff is the most dedicated group of individuals I have ever met. Our facilities are safer, more secure, and more beautiful than ever before. Finally, our families are second to none. They are amazingly dedicated to our mission and our success, volunteering time to help out in a million different ways. We are so blessed!

It is going to be an outstanding year and I am excited to see all of you at the "Meet the Teachers/Supply Drop Off" event on Sept. 2nd, as well as the Back to School BBQ on Sept. 3rd. Hopefully you are well rested and ready to begin the new year. So, WELCOME BACK!!

Katie Dempsey

Principal

What is the "Meet the Teachers Event" on Sept. 2nd?

This is a wonderful time to stop by the school (anytime between 8 am and noon) to meet the teachers for the first time or visit with them after a long summer. It is also meant to be a time for students to drop off supplies so that they don't need to bring them in on the first day of school. Finally, it tends to make that first morning go much more smoothly and the kids less anxious! Stop by anytime between 8 am and noon and visit with us. We love to see those smiling faces!

Are you Ready for the Back to School BBQ?

Saturday, Sept. 3rd is the Back to School BBQ from 1 - 3 pm. Here are the details:

Do You have Your School Supplies?

If you haven't yet purchased your school supplies, it's not to late to do it through ClassBundl. It is online and can be shipped directly to your house. The school gets 5% of the proceeds from your order. Best of all, if you order between Aug 15 and 22nd, you will get 5% off your purchase! Just click on the "Purchase School Supplies" link on our webpage, www.hrrsjda.org.

Uniform Sale!

If your child grew over the summer and his/her uniform doesn't fit, uniform donations will be accepted at the bbq or they can be dropped off (laundered) at the office beforehand. Gently used uniforms will be sold during the bbq.

New Parking Spaces and Carpool Lane...Thank You to Mr. Gomez!!

We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Gomez for repainting all of the parking spaces on our campus. In addition, he has created a new carpool lane, which will be used for both sunshine and rain. The safety square has been moved, creating a safer space for the children. He also added some handicapped spaces. This was a big job...Thank You!!
