Be a Knox College Volunteer!
How does it work?
How do I find out about events?
Our center produces a Volunteer Menu for all students, faculty and staff at the beginning of every term. We send this menu via email to everyone at Knox!
Two types of opportunities
Long Term = making a commitment to volunteer for 5 or 6 weeks
Examples: Be a Reading Buddy every Wednesday from 8:45 to 9:45.
Work in an after-school program every Thursday from 2:45 – 5:00pm.
Short Term = making a commitment for a few hours at a special event
Examples: Participate in Family Fun Night at Neilson School
Volunteer at Knox Prairie Community Kitchen
Is there special training? Yes. There are two things you need to do!
#1 The Kleine Center offers an on-line ‘Volunteer Orientation’ which includes information such as: what to wear, what to share, a photo release, info about transportation, maps and driving directions, and an all information sheet…
#2 Department of Child and Family Services Certification is required to participate in any and all programs involving children. Click this link to complete the training
