FAFSA Dates
- FAFSA opens October 1.
- The priority deadline is January 15.
- The deadline for the upcoming fall semester is June 30.
To-Do List
- Go to the FAFSA4Caster to see how much financial aid you might receive.
- Go to KnowHow2Go: The Four Steps to College for advice on college planning.
- Go to StudentAid.gov/careersearch to explore careers.
- Download the myStudentAid app on Google Play or the App Store.
- Complete a personality test if you have no idea about what you might want to do after high school. This test will give you career ideas based on your personality.

- Seniors, remember to complete your Senior Brag Sheet and share it with anyone that will write a recommendation letter for you. Local scholarship applications will be due the Friday we leave for Spring Break in March 2021.

For students who are not planning to go to any college at all:
- Go to O*Net to explore careers. Click on Job Zone to search for jobs that do not require a college degree.
- Go to the Texas Workforce Commission to search for jobs that are in demand. Click on county and select any county where you want to live and work.
- Create a resume here or here.
- Get a job while you are in high school to get used to a work schedule and to build a good work ethic.
- Create a budget and stick to it.
For students who are thinking about enlisting:
- Take the ASVAB your junior year.
- Research enlistment requirements to make sure you are ready to go.
- Talk to a recruiter. If you need a number, come by Mrs. Heryford's office or search for the branch you want to join and add "recruiters in Lubbock."

Changes for ACT Beginning Sept. 2020
- Section Retesting- as many times as needed; previous scores as far back as 2016 are included in your super score
- Super Scoring- best of each section; scores will be reported to student, high school, and college
- Students may use four vouchers instead of two; vouchers may be used for section retesting or for a full test
- Online testing with faster results on all national test dates (results within two days for online tests)
