There are 1,604 manufacturers in the five county region of WNY accounting for $25.5 Billion (that's Billion with a B!) in annual shipments. WNY Manufacturing also represents over $3.5 Billion in annual payroll...these are good paying family sustaining jobs!

If we narrow the scope and only focus on Chautauqua County manufacturing still has a vary large footprint as it currently represents 17% of the workforce compared to the national average of 9%.

The Manufacturers Association of the Southern Tier in recognition of their 115th year anniversary welcomes you to attend this free public viewing of the American Made Movie.

Recently there is new energy and focus on bringing American manufacturing back to the forefront of the U.S. economy and it has engaged everyone from manufacturing employers and workers, to legislators, educational facilities and even consumers as being a part of the solution. By understanding where and how products are made in the United States, and supporting American manufacturers, individuals have contributed to a resurgence of American manufacturing. While manufacturing employment levels remain steadily increasing, there is hope once again that America can return to the manufacturing greatness it once held!

American manufacturing employment has been on the decline for decades, unleashing a devastating effect on our local and national economies. But it's the stories of communities and the families that comprise them that reveal the harshest costs upon the nation. American Made Movie is a documentary film examining the factors contributing to the decline of the American manufacturing workforce and the integral role consumerism may play in getting the economy back on track. The movie looks back on the glory days of U.S. manufacturing when there was a more balanced relationship between the goods produced and the goods consumed. Whether you are an entrepreneur, student, stay-at-home mom or a senior citizen, you have the power to transform America's future and be a part of the solution through thinking before buying and through the simple choices you make every day.
