SARANAC LAKE HIGH SCHOOL
June 2019 Newsletter
Dear SLHS Families,
It’s hard to believe that June is here and I’m writing the last newsletter for the 2018-2019 school year! As we approach the last few days of instruction and upcoming Regents/Final Exams, I encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of studying hard, seeking assistance if necessary, and finishing the year strong.
Regents/ Final Exams
During the exam period, the buses will arrive at the regular time in the morning. From June 18th through June 25th, buses are scheduled to take students home at 11:15am and 2:50pm. On the last day of school, Wednesday, June 26th students will be dismissed at 9:30am. Students who do not have exams are not required to attend school.
The use of any cell phones or communication devices are strictly prohibited when taking Regents/Final Exams. Students who are found using a communication device during an exam, no matter how briefly, will have the exam invalidated and a zero score will be given. This guideline comes directly from the State Education Department.
Art Show, Sports Awards & Spring Concert
The annual Saranac Lake High School Visual Arts Show will be held in the Cantwell Room in the Saranac Lake Free Library from May 31 to June 13.
On Thursday, June 13th, at 7:00 in the High School Auditorium, the High School Music Department will present their Spring Concert. The performance will feature all of the performing groups at the High School: Festival Chorus, Jazz Ensemble, Women's Ensemble, Men's Ensemble, Concert Choir, and Concert Band. Special recognition will be given to our Seniors as well. The concert is free and open to the public.
