The Manning Weekly Newsletter
May 3, 2019
Dear Families,
Now that we are in the month of May and have reached the home stretch, many of us feel as if the school day is a blur. We all have a ton we are trying to get done in these next three weeks we have together. Despite feeling swamped, our teachers are doing a great job continuing to prepare engaging lessons for our students. As we wrap up the 18-19 school year, the best thing we can do for our students is to hold them accountable for their behavior and learning all the way up until the last day of school. We really appreciate your support.
Have a great weekend.
David / Mr. Luongo

PLC Update
This past Wednesday, our teachers met as an entire staff to celebrate good things happening at Manning and go over some end-of-year logistics. After the staff meeting, we broke into subject-area teams to discuss business items.
At Manning, we strive to live our core values every day.
HONESTY
- Molly Jones is always a great student in class and very Honest with her peers. She is always doing the right thing and is always trying her hardest.
EFFORT
- Milo Messina's team did not show up to help him put together the Escape Room for the school dance. He came early and set up the room. He also had to reconfigure the puzzles because he and his team did not test the puzzles or think them through. He easily could have quit many times that afternoon but stuck with it and had a great room that most students enjoyed that night!
- Ms. Mendez led the StuCo team to a great dance this Spring! The kids had a blast and there were minimal problems that I'm not sure the kids even noticed. It was well planned and organized. Thank you, Shawna for supporting the kids this way. What exhausting work!
- Makenna Mertz is always helping me and she is really nice and tries her best and she helps me every day emotionally and physically.
- Mr. Hageman always keeps a positive attitude throughout the school day. He has a funny sense of humor and puts in tons of effort to make class fun and entertaining.
