Freedom Friday Focus

2-27-15

Freedom Families,

Thank you for being so flexible and supportive during our ice days. Our number one priority is student safety. It was so great to see all the smiling faces on Wednesday morning during the snow.

While this has been a short week, it has been productive, and lots of learning has taken place. Please join us on Thursday night from 6-7 PM in your child's classroom to see their work showcased. We will also have the 3rd and 4th grade Science Fair projects on display in the library.

Fun Run

Apex Fun Run is coming!!! This is PTA's primary fundraiser for this semester. Apex gives 10% directly back to each classroom teacher of their class' total sales. PTA has voted to spend the raised funds on technology and possibly an awning for the Kindergarten playground. The kick-off will be on Tuesday at 1:45 in the gym.

You can download the Apex Fun Run App for iPhone/Android/tablets. Watch videos that tie in with our Leadership theme, review leadership lessons, get pledges, link to Facebook and some other info.

    Kindergarten Round-Up

    Hello,

With Kindergarten Roundup approaching, Texas.gov is reminding parents that they can go directly to Texas.gov and order a certified birth certificate for $22, the same price as a walk-in or mail order. This online service, offered in English and Spanish, provides parents with a straightforward, secure option for ordering their child’s birth certificate. The orders are fulfilled by the Texas Department of State Health Services.

Attached are flyers, in English and Spanish, with more information and a link to a helpful video demonstration found on the Texas.gov YouTube channel on how to order a birth certificate online. We encourage you to share this information with your parents and staff throughout the district/school news outlets. The flyer is grayscale for easy printing, and can also be sent as an attachment for email announcements, eBackpacks, and online newsletters.

Please let me know if you have any questions or would like more information. Thanks for helping us spread the word about this convenient service!

Use these links to share via Twitter and/or Facebook: Certified birth certificates for #KindergartenRoundUp can be ordered online from Texas.gov. http://bit.ly/1ae5UXF
