CHAMPION OF JUSTICE

WHAT?

Hammurabi was the 6th king of the first Dynasty of Babylon. He was the first emperor to codify law. He brought his empire together through political alliances and conquering neighboring lands for much needed resources.He is best known for creating Hammurabi's Code which is a document containing laws that regulate every aspect of babylonian life. This code was also inscribed on to a pillar for all to see and know. He was married and had children.In the prologue to his code he said he wanted to "establish justice".

Hammurabi lived from 1792-1750 B.C.

WHERE?

Hammurabi ruled and lived in Babylon.

WHY?

Hammurabi was the first emperor to codify law.
