This week
What a beautiful day! The sun is shining, the leaves are gorgeous!
We are wrapping up adding and subtracting within 10. Please continue to work with your child to help them be automatic!
We are focusing on the three ways to spell /ie/: pie, spike, try. We are also reviewing the 2 sounds made by ow: snow, plow. Our spelling words are: neck, lick, clock, duck, broomstick, go, no, grin, hop and fit.
We are learning to recognize and read blends (bl, tr, sm....)
In reading we are learning about retelling important information from a text and inferring (putting together clues like a detective to learn more about a book).
In writing we are doing opinion writing! Students are continuing to work on forming complete sentences, using capitalization, spacing and punctuation.
In Science we are learning about day and night.
