NEW Donate Life Walk Registration
This year, with help from the NEW Donate Life Student Leadership Committee, we will be hosting our 11th annual NorthEast Wisconsin Donate Life Walk. This is a 2.5 fun run/walk to help raise money for the Donate Life Wisconsin organization, which is very near and dear to our hearts! And more importantly this walk hopes to raise awareness for the need for organ donation. Many people in our district have been affected by organ transplantation and donation. Gail Burant’s son, Ethan, had a life-saving liver transplant in 2010 and Mary Swinford’s brother, Lonnie, who passed away at the early age of 39, was a donor. Eve Wozniak's husband Brent is also an organ recipient and current BP student Lauren Wolfe is an organ recipient. You can read their stories by clicking on their names or read them in person in our Gift of Life Garden Walk on Saturday April 1st, doors open 8am at Bay View Middle School.
April 1st is the 11th annual walk and we are asking for your help. Here are some ways that you might consider helping:
1. Register a team with family & friends to walk together on April 1st. Here is the link to the website where you can sign up: https://howard-suamicoschools.revtrak.net/bv/#/f/bv-donate-life-2023-a
2. Like us on Facebook and share the information about the walk: https://www.facebook.com/newdonatelifewalk/
3. Donate a silent auction item(s)- let us know at newdonatelife@gmail.com or Gail Burant (gailbura@hssdschools.org ) if you are interested in donating a basket!
4. Read more inspiring stories of hope of our past walk Grand Marshals here
5. Share your own organ donation or transplantation story with us to be included in our Gift of Life Garden Walk.
Thank you, Gail Burant & Mary Swinford Email: newdonatelife@gmail.com

COMMUNITY CORNER
The Giving Tree
The Giving Tree is excited to announce that we have been selected as one of the 45 local nonprofits that will benefit from Give BIG Green Bay 2023!

In 2022 alone, nearly $2.5 million was gifted to 45 nonprofit organizations. The Giving Tree is thrilled to have been selected to build upon this community-wide success.
Your donations to The Giving Tree through Give BIG Green Bay will support the families in our community who utilize this service, specifically through pantry dates, the Back-to-School event, and the Holiday Store. Registration for each event is highly encouraged in order to provide resources for all who attend. You can complete registration for each event using the QR Code below in the flyer, or by visiting the District website and going to the Student Services Department.
DIGI KNOW ...
Digi Know: iPad Care and Maintenance
Every tool needs care and maintenance, and our iPads are one of our key learning tools. As we are now just over mid-way through the year, now is the perfect time to complete the following iPad maintenance tasks:
1. Check your iPad storage by going to Settings > General > iPad Storage. If you have less than 10 GB of storage, itʻs a great time to clean up. Delete unused videos and photos from your Camera Roll and delete unused Apps.
2. Check your iPad iOS version All students should be on 15.7. This notice was sent out via student announcements and the Bay View Buzz this past fall. In the LMC, we have noticed that most of the students who come in with issues have outdated iOS. To check your version go to Settings > General > About. If your iOS is under 15.7, go to Settings > General > Software Update and select "Download and Install" underneath 15.7.1.
3. Check your iPad case and screen. If your case or screen is dirty, you can come to the LMC and get it cleaned. If you clean it at home, donʻt use any harsh cleaners and never spray cleaner directly on the device. Spray it on a towel and then wipe the dirty area. Remember to never draw or write on your case, but you can put stickers on the outside of your case.
If we take good care of our tools, they work better and it decreases the chance of glitches and errors. Putting a bit of time into these three steps is a great demonstration of the Grad Profile trait "Responsibility", and saves us time in the long run by keeping our key learning tool in good condition.
