2023 Graduation Information
GRADUATION PRACTICE - JUNE 2
All seniors will be required to attend graduation practice at The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center on Friday, June 2nd. Seniors must arrive no later than 7:45 a.m. so practice can begin promptly at 8:00 a.m. Students should park in the north or south parking lots (not the Wellness Ctr lot) and enter the main doors of The Betty (facing west). This practice is mandatory and must be attended if you plan to walk through the graduation ceremony on June 4th.
If you have a school sponsored event that conflicts with graduation practice, you must inform Mr. Strandell by Thursday, June 1st.
GRADUATION CEREMONY - JUNE 4
GFC graduation will take place on Sunday, June 4th at 4:00 p.m. at The Betty Engelstad Sioux Center. Graduates must arrive by 3:15 p.m.
All students who participate in the commencement ceremony are expected to dress in an appropriate manner. They are encouraged to dress nicely for this special occasion. The cap, gown and tassel are required to be worn. No personal additions are allowed to the cap or gown, other than the school-issued stoles and NHS pins, without prior permission from administration.
Only students who have completed their graduation requirements will participate in the graduation ceremony. The list of students participating will be finalized on Tuesday, May 30th.
Spectator tickets will not be required to attend the ceremony.

Seniors not walking in the ceremony, may pick up their diplomas and/or caps & gowns beginning on Monday, June 5th in the main office at Central.
Lunch Account Refunds
Medication Pick Up
If your student has medications at school, they need to be picked up by June 1st, 2022.
A parent or guardian will need to stop in the school office to pick up these medications. If medications remain at the school after June 1st, they will be disposed of by the school nurse.

Lockers
Each student is issued a lock at the beginning of the year. If this lock is not left on the locker at the end of the year, the student will be charged $5.00 for it's replacement. ALL ITEMS MUST BE REMOVED FROM LOCKERS BY 2:00 PM ON THURSDAY, JUNE 1ST. Our custodians will begin emptying lockers at 2:00 p.m., items left in lockers will be disposed of immediately. The school is not responsible for items left in lockers!
Driving Skills For Success & Alive at 25 Information
The Driving Skills For Success event will be hosted at the Alerus Center on July 11. The link to register is below.

The ND Department of Transportation/Vision Zero will also be offering the Alive at 25 course free of charge on the same date.
Both the Driving Skills For Success and Alive at 25 course help teach students lifelong skills that will keep them safe on our roadways and potentially off them an insurance discount for participation.
Summer Camps and other Opportunities
Mentor Center Summer Info
The Mentor Center will be open in June to provide Credit Recovery support, academic assistance, and enrichment activities for middle and high school students. Free lunch will be provided.
SCHEDULE:
June 5-29
Monday through Thursday
12 pm to 4 pm
Middle school students eligible 3 days/week
High school students eligible 4 days/week
REQUIREMENTS:
Must be enrolled in Grand Forks Public Schools grades 6-12 for next year
Must participate in scheduled activities or do academic work
Must follow Mentor Center Code of Conduct, including turning in cell phone
TRANSPORTATION:
Free busing is available.
Bus pickup request form will be found on our website and must be completed by 10 a.m. each day.
Bus pickup will begin at 11:30 a.m.
We can pick up students at home, at South following middle school SPA, or at Red River following high school summer school.
Students can sign up for a ride home when they arrive. The bus will leave at 4:00.
No separate registration is required. Walk-ins are welcome. If attendance needs to be capped, that will be announced separately.

Online enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year is once again available for Grand Forks Public School students. This process replaces the paper forms sent home at the beginning of each school year. You will use the PowerSchool Parent Portal to access the Registration 2023-2024 link. If you have not already completed the online registration process, please follow the directions through the link below to complete the online enrollment.
