Ever wonder how home depot got started?
The Creaters of Home Depot
In 1978, the co-founders Author Blank and Bernie Marcus said that they wanted to make Home Depot the new thing in the home improvement industry. They opened there first two home depot stores on June 22, 1979 in Atlanta, Georgia. Since there stores were so big they had to train their employees so they would know where everything was. In the 1980s and the 1990s, the business was booming. By 1989, the company had its 100th store opening!,
Over the years, the company went global. In 2001, they built stores in Mexico and Canada. Then, five years later, Home Depot was built in China. Now, more people go to Home Depot buy items to improve their buildings.
In the beginning of the opening of Home Depot, Marcus and Blank gave their sons money so when shoppers came out they would give each shopper a dollar as a thank you. They expected the boys would run out of money by the afternoon, but they were wrong. Their sons were offering money to those who went into the store.
This is the one of the first Home Depots that was created in 1979. It was a booming store that was heaven to carpenters and builders.
Marcus and Blank
