A Word From Mrs. White

We had our first PTO meeting this week Tuesday evening. It was a great success with a fantastic turnout. So many wonderful things are in the works for our students! There is still time to get involved and sign up to volunteer! Make sure you are signing up in the membership toolkit using the info below.

Thank you for a great week with your wonderful students! We got to join all together again for Dolphin Daybreak and it was fantastic! We used to do this on a weekly basis before COVID and this is the first time we have gathered all together again. It did my heart really good to look out and see all their sweet faces. Dennis is a special place full of wonderful students, staff, and families and I am blessed to be your Principal. Enjoy a restful fun weekend and we will do it all again next week (minus monday).

PLEASE HELP With Morning Drop Off Procedures!

If you drop your student off in the morning in the front parking lot:

You must park in a parking spot and walk your student all the way to the door. Please use the Crosswalks! You may not park in the Fire lane or a handicap space if you do not have a handicap tag.


If you drop your student off at the front door in the carline:

Please stop at the Stop Sign and not ON the crosswalk.


Breakfast is served until 8:20am

The bell rings and class starts at 8:30am

Reminders for FT Pre-K:

  • Please send a water bottle for your child every day
  • Breakfast ends at 8:20
  • The speed limit is 15 mph everywhere on campus
  • Do not park in Fire lane for arrival or dismissal
  • Parents must walk students to the door at arrival. Do not let students walk from the cars by themselves!

FESTIVAL OF AMISTAD

At Dennis Elementary we are wanting to celebrate the diversity of our student population in various ways and increase our cultural awareness all year long! To get us started we are having the “Festival of Amistad” parade! On Saturday, September 10th, we will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by participating in the “Festival of Amistad” parade!


When: Saturday, September 10, 2022

Where: The parade will start promptly at 11am from MORELOS grocery store (NW 36th & MacArthur), down MacArthur to 50th, east on 50th street, ending at Putnam City High School parking lot.

Why: To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month & the Hispanic families of Putnam City =35%

Family Event: Fun, food trucks, vendors, live music, dancing & more! Please contact Ms. Phelps at tphelphs@putnamcityschools.org if you are able to walk in the parade to help represent Dennis Elementary.

HAPPY LABOR DAY! NO SCHOOL ON MONDAY!
