School Loop Parent Emails

School Loop emails parents at 5:00 PM nightly with current grades, number of missing assignments, and upcoming assignments. This 5:00 PM email parents are used to receiving is currently not coming through correctly. As of right now, the email is only showing upcoming assignments. School Loop and the Vacaville School District are aware of the problem and are working to correct it.

In the mean time:

  1. Monitor progress via School Loop. Don't just look for zeros or missing assignments, review the progress for each class to determine what assignments need to be resubmitted for a better grade as well. As a reminder, teachers are not required to post/update grades daily. If you have immediate concerns on your student's grade, jump to #3!
  2. Monitor progress via Google Classroom. In each Google Classroom, students have a "To Do" list which shows what assignments need to be completed. Additionally, students should be showing you what they have submitted. Sometimes an assignment is submitted but incomplete.
  3. Home-School Communication. Teachers and guidance counselors are part of the team! Send them an email, call and set up a conference - we still Zoom to ensure that we have the ability to connect with our families. It's important for students to know that as a team, we will work together to ensure that they receive the best instruction and that they are responsible for their learning.

You can access School Loop Grades and missing assignments online or on the School Loop app. If you need assistance with your user name and password, please contact Krisden Kidd, Learning Support Coordinator at (707) 453-6270.

Social Media & Your Students

It has been brought to our attention that there is still a growing concern over social media and our students. Recently, there have been accounts created on SnapChat, TikTok and Instagram that feature the name of our school combined with other district school names. There have been pictures and videos of students taken and posted without permission. These accounts are causing student conflict by calling out students on social medial. This behavior clearly falls under cyber bullying. If your child has a device that can access the web via WiFi or with cellular data, take time to go through their pictures and videos as well as their social media accounts. I've attached the Vacaville Unified School Board policy on cyber bullying for you and encourage you to review this with your student. The Governing Board believes that all students have the right to be educated in a positive learning environment free from disruptions. Students shall be expected to exhibit appropriate conduct that does not infringe upon the rights of others or interfere with the school program while on school grounds, going to or coming from school, at school activities, or using district transportation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Together, lets make the MIDDLE matter,

Colleen Moe
