Welcome Mr. Ainsworth
We are excited to have some new staff members joining us here at HSES. Please join me in welcoming the following:
Adam Ainsworth-Music Teacher
Hello Holly Springs Elementary! My name is Adam Ainsworth, and I am so happy and excited to join this amazing school community as your new music teacher! I am originally from a small town in the California desert. I started playing the violin at age 8, in public school, when it was offered every day for an hour, which was awesome! I’ve been teaching privately since the age of 16, and I graduated with a degree in Honors Violin Performance from the University of California, San Diego, Revelle College. I live in Apex with my wonderful wife and three small kids, two of which attend Wake County schools. My two lovely daughters are in kindergarten (age 6) and 2nd grade (age 7), and my positively rambunctious 2-year-old son loves to act silly and laugh! Our 10-year-old rescue Labrador-mix doggie, Murphy, loves swimming in the water and playing fetch. During my free time I like playing live music venues, spending time with my family at the beach, playing outside, and camping. I can’t wait to meet all of you and share my joy of music!

Summer Learning at HSES: IMPORTANT
Carpool
Our carpool system is designed to offer safe and efficient arrival and dismissal of students who come to school in private vehicles. Safety for all is our primary concern, not speed. Please be patient and do not pull around cars unless directed to do so by a staff member.
According to NC law only law enforcement officials, firefighters, or traffic control officers are legally allowed to direct traffic. Since HSES staff members do not fall under these categories, we are instituting the right turn-only procedure at HSES to ensure the safety of all staff. As a visual reminder, we are placing cones/possible patrol car along the outside edge of the left turn lane until we all get used to this procedure. We are asking that if you approach the HSES carpool lane and you normally turn in the left turn lane, we ask that you proceed down Holly Springs Road until you can make a U-turn at the stoplight and join the carpool line. Please plan accordingly. Thank you for your cooperation to keep everyone safe in our HSES school community.
Decline Transportation Information
If your child is not accessing the school bus as a method of transportation but is currently registered, please use the link below to decline transportation services. This will help the transportation department make sure that the stops and routes assigned to drivers are as efficient as possible.

Positivity Project: Tracks 1 & 2 Self-Control
“The best fighter is never angry.”

Positivity Project: Track 4 Bravery
This week students will learn about bravery. Bravery refers to voluntary (not coerced) action in the face of a dangerous circumstance. This strength involves judgment; the brave person must have an understanding of the risks and consequences involved in acting. According to Socrates and Plato, forethought separates acts of valor from acts of rashness. This means that bravery isn’t simply fearlessness, but instead the overcoming of fear.
“I have learned over the years that when one’s mind is made up, this diminishes fear; knowing what must be done does away with fear.”

P2 for Families
P2 for Families is an easy and effective way for families to discuss the importance of character strengths and positive relationships. It is differentiated for grades Pre-K – 2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Each character strength follows a 1-1-3 model: 1 quote, 1 video, and 3 questions to drive conversations around character at home.
Please choose your child’s grade level on the site linked HERE to be directed to all of the character strengths. CODE NEEDED: P2
