First week of School Edition
From the Principal
This newsletter contains new/updated information regarding transportation and the first day of school.
Our school hours are 8:45am - 4:10pm. Students may come inside the building beginning at 8:20 am. Students should be dropped off no later than 8:40 am. At 8:40 am we begin our morning announcements and our staff members on car rider duty will need to go inside to report to their first-period classes.
In the afternoon, we begin loading car riders at 4:10 pm. It takes a little longer the first week or so of school, but once we get our routines established we should finish car riders around 4:25 pm each day. Please be respectful of our staff by picking up your students on time as our staff hours end at 4:30 pm each day.
We are looking forward to an amazing year as we bring out the best for our students!
Best regards,
Laura Midkiff, Principal
Transportation
The first two weeks of school, please expect transportation delays. Each day will get a little better as we establish routines.
If your child will be a permanent or regular car rider, please use this link to register for a car rider tag.
During car riders, please help make sure that everyone stays safe by following our staff's directions, staying in the designated lanes etc. We will have staff with signs directing students when it is time to unload. We also have signs letting drivers know when it is ok to be moving and when we need all cars stopped for loading/unloading.
Important First Day of School Information
For the safety of all of our students, we do not allow parents to walk students to class including on the first day of school. Our staff members are focused on welcoming our students back to school so we cannot schedule parent conferences or opportunities for parents to meet the teacher. We will have stations outside of the school to drop off school supplies, check transportation, look up a homeroom assignment, etc. for families who were not able to attend Yellowjacket Express. If you must visit Yeager on the first day of school, please anticipate long lines and understand that we do not make exceptions regarding walking students to class or meeting the teacher.
We will have staff members and volunteers assisting students to their classrooms, etc.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
