When did immigrants come to America?
From 1880 to 1920, most immigrants came from Austria-Hungary, Italy. They also came from Russia, Ireland, Great Britain, and Germany in the 1820's.

* Usually it took 3 to 5 hours to get through the whole process.
* If you have medical problems you had to go to there home country.
Pull factors and push factors
They came here to escape from poverty.
They came here for freedom.
They came here to escape famine (their potatoes were rotting).
They came searching for a better life.
Jewish people came so they won't get persecuted.
Contributions
* Immigrants brought their unique language.
* They also brought their food.
*They brought their music.
Discrimination
* Chinese people faced the Chinese exclusion act
* managers took advantage by giving them low wages because of there coulture
