CHS SWIMMERS EARN INDIVIDUAL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
Three CHS swimmers were named Individual State Champions at Saturday’s meet. Michael Klauss won the 100 Fly; Marina McInelly took 2nd in her individual event; and Terry Yang also took 2nd in her individual event. All three swimmers have earned NASCA All-America consideration. Congratulations, Wolves!
GIRLS SWIM WINS SECOND AT STATE
The Girls Swim Team, coached by Mr. Kerry Croswhite, finished second in Saturday’s State Swim Championship. Swimmers who excelled in their strokes were Marina McInelly, Destiny Kling, Sieara Kling, Sydney Chun, Haley Morton, Bristyn Croswhite, Charlotte Stenmark, Sarah Quintana, Shea Burcham, Ashlyn Reidhead, and Allison Chiou. Congratulations on a fantastic season and the best overall finish in team history!
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY STATE RUNNERS-UP
Congratulations to the CHS Girls Cross Country Team for earning State Runner-Up honors on Saturday. They are coached by Mr. Matt Lincoln. Under Coach Lincoln’s guidance, the team has been one of the top finishers in State each year and look forward to continued success in track. This year's team that competed at the state championships included:

T.J. GREEN NAMED PLAYER OF THE WEEK
T.J. Green, CHS Varsity Running Back, was named the Arizona Cardinals/Wells Fargo Player of the Week for Week 10. Green ran for 307 yards and three touchdowns with an additional 52 yards and a score receiving in Chandler’s 63-28 win over Hamilton. Congrats, T.J!
FOOTBALL UPDATE
Chandler defeated Basha 48-6 in Round 1 of the State Playoffs last Friday. Come out to Austin Field this Thursday to watch the Wolves take on Desert Vista. Gates open at 6:00pm, and kick-off is at 7:00. The AIA has set ticket prices at $10 for adults and $5 for students. Let’s cheer the Wolves on to another victory Thursday night! Congratulations to Senior Addison Wilkins and Sophomore Brett Van Vleet for their outstanding performances in the state qualifier which landed them spots in the prestigious 2016 Division 1 State Dive Championships. Congrats on a great season!
FRENCH CLUB ACTIVITIES
Traditionally, France does not celebrate Halloween, but the CHS French Club members decided otherwise by organizing “trick or treat” games where CHS students got the chance to win French candies (Malabar, Michoco, Carambar) and French cookies (Macaroons & Piroulines).

THEATRE COMMUNITY SERVICE
This year’s Haunted House for Charity was a huge success. 468 people went through and donated 557 pounds of food for Matthew's Crossing Food Bank. CHS Theatre students were fantastically scary, as always.
CHOIR CONCERT
The Chandler High Choral Department presented its 2016-17 Fall Concert last Thursday to a packed CCA house. The concert, directed by Ms. Lori Lyford, featured Women’s Choir, Advanced Women’s Choir, Treblemakers, Men’s Choir, Chamber Choir, and Chorale. Highlights of the night included the Treblemakers’ set recently performed in Las Vegas and Chorale’s Tshotsholoza, arranged by J.
Ames.
CHANDLER CAREER EXPLORATION EXPO
Chandler High School’s DECA hosted its First Annual Career Exploration Expo last Thursday. Intel, Microchip, Chandler Police and Fire Departments, and Paypal were among the over 25 companies that participated. ASU, U of A, NAU, and CGCC were also in attendance. Thanks to DECA and Mrs. Kim Frahm for coordinating a great event!

FREE SAT/ACT COMBO PRACTICE TEST
On November 13th, there will be a Free SAT/ACT Combo Practice Test held by Kaplan Test Prep to help students decide between the SAT and ACT. Participants will receive their scores immediately following the exam. The practice test will be held at the Tempe Public Library from 12:30pm-4:30pm. Chaparral High School is hosting the Selective Colleges Admissions Panel on Monday, November 14th, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., in the auditorium. This panel will be especially helpful for freshmen-juniors in their college planning for a selective school (Dartmouth, Harvard, MIT, Penn, Princeton, Stanford and Yale represented). Have you ever thought about a job in the Health/Medical Field?
Dental Hygienists make $70,000-$79,000 a year with an Associate’s Degree. Dental Assistants make between $30,000-38,000 with a certificate program. Mesa Community College and Rio Solado Community College both offer these programs.
Registered Nurses start out in the $54,000 or more range with an Associate’s Degree. Licensed Practical Nurses start out in the $40,000 or more range with a training certificate. These programs are offered at Gateway Community College, Mesa Community College and Chandler Gilbert Community College. Nurse Practitioners make a median salary of $88,000. This position requires a Master’s Degree.
Radiology Technologists start out in the $43,000-51,000 range with an Associate’s Degree from Gateway Community College. Radiologists have a median salary of $370,000 this job requires a Doctorate of Medicine.

Are you looking for a way to help families in need this holiday season? The Chandler CARE Center’s Thanksgiving Family Assistance Day on Saturday, November 19th is your opportunity! Please join CHS in helping to provide the makings for a Thanksgiving meal to Chandler families in need. There is no need to wait until November to donate; CHS will take your donations of turkeys, canned fruits, dry pinto beans, cereal, boxed stuffing, boxed desserts (pudding or Jell-O), canned vegetables, soup, rice, instant mashed potatoes, pasta, mac and cheese, toiletries, hygiene items (shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc.), and paper goods (paper towels, tissue, toilet paper). Donations can be dropped off at the front office by Wednesday, November 16th. Thank you for your support of the CARE Center and your commitment to helping Chandler families in need!
