Parts of Speech Review
Objective
Students will review and practice identifying common parts of speech.
Time: 45 Minutes
Introduction - 2 Minutes
Today you will be reviewing five main parts of speech that we learned throughout the year. The parts of speech you will be reviewing are nouns, verbs, adjectives, pronouns, and prepositions. These parts of speech help make strong sentences.

In your folder, you will find the notes handout below. Complete the notes handout, as you watch the videos below. Use the definitions and examples in the video to complete the notes handout. You will use these notes as you complete your activity and assessment.

Activity - 20 Minutes
Now, you will practice identifying and using these parts of speech in several activities. The following worksheets are in your folder to be completed. You may use your notes to help you.
- "Label It" - in this worksheet you will label the parts of speech in each sentence. (Adjectives are bonus!)
- "Brainstorm" - in this worksheet you will think of some words that show relationship to elephants. (You may search "elephant" to get a picture to help you.)
- "Write the room" - in this worksheet you will be describing the position of items in a room using prepositions.
Assessment - 5 Minutes
