Message From Dr. Corey Ray, Principal
Thank you for your participation in 1st quarter parent-teacher conferences. It is very reassuring to see such a high percentage of parents involved in their child’s education. Your continual involvement in your child’s education is a significant factor in maximizing the success of your child. We look forward to our ongoing partnership with you to provide the best education for your child.
Thank you for your flexibility as we navigate the pandemic. If you have any questions or concerns regarding the newly adopted recommended masking guideline, please feel free to contact me. We are recommending masking, but not requiring masking at this time. Masking is still required on the bus, and I strongly encourage students to wear their mask when they are in non-cohorted settings such as Title 1 classrooms, special education classrooms, and special area classrooms. This reduces your child's chance of being quarantined should they come in contact with a positive Covid-19 case in these classrooms. Of course, the current masking guidelines are subject to change depending upon school and community spread.
Speaking of quarantine, there is now a possible option to reduce the number of quarantine days for close contact students through a negative Covid-19 test. If your close contact child tests negative for Covid-19 on day 5, 6, or 7 of their quarantine and your child is not symptomatic, they are allowed to return to school on day 7. This test must come from a medical provider and may not be an at home test. Masking is still required for students returning to school from their at home quarantine until the official end of their quarantine on day 14.
We already have a collection of coats and jackets in our lost and found area. If your child has lost a coat at school this year, please feel free to stop by before or after school to see if it is hanging in our lost and found rack located in the gym foyer. Please label your child’s coat, jacket, and lunch box to keep them out of our lost and found.
Thanksgiving will be here before you know it. I am very thankful to be a part of the Wyman Family. The work of teachers and support of the parents are second to none. On behalf of Wyman Elementary, I wish you and your family a very safe, enjoyable Thanksgiving.
Sincerely,
Dr. Corey Ray, Ed.D.
Principal

CAR RIDERS:
School opens at 7:30 am, please do not drop your student off earlier than that.
Due to safety concerns and since we do not have a crossing guard car riders MUST be dropped in the lower lot car rider circle.
When entering the car rider lane in AM or PM, you must come off of Rolla Street, please do not make a left hand turn off of Lanning Lane. Do not drop your child off at the front office door. This is for the safety of your child.
Please DO NOT pull into driveways across the street, while waiting for dismissal of your child. That is not school property and you can be towed by the property owners.
COVID INFO:
- We cannot accept at home COVID test results. Results must come from a doctors office.
- If your child is quarantined, and you need a chrome book, we can check one out to your child at the office. Please return promptly when finished with quarantines.
- If your child is quarantined due to a close contact outside of school, your child will need a health department letter starting their date of return.
