Volunteers Needed for Discovery Day #4:

Reading Buddies:
Volunteers will be reading with students either in a small group or with individual students, depending on the Teachers needs. Your commitment would be 1 hour (or more if you want) a week thru May. The Johnson STEAM Academy PTA Group Skate is scheduled for Friday, March 1, 2019, from 6:30-8:30 pm. at The Cedar Rapids Ice Arena @ 1100 Rockford Rd SW, Cedar Rapids, IA 52404
Price: $5.00 per person, includes skate rental. The Johnson STEAM Academy PTA will receive $2.00 per person.

Applying for Preschool for the 2019-2020 school year is ONLINE and is as easy as 1, 2, 3!
- Your child must be 3 and/or 4 by September 15, 2019 to be eligible for the 2019-2020 school year.
- Fill out a Preschool Application (LINK will be active starting at 7am on February 25, 2019) Go to http://www.cr.k12.ia.us/schools/how-to-enroll/ and click on the green button.During the application process, parents will be asked to indicate their first and second choice selections of preschool locations as well as a session time. Students will be placed in schools based on the order they are registered, funding eligibility and the number of available openings.
- You will need to provide: A copy of child’s Birth Certificate & Family Income Verification (If you wish to be considered for grant opportunities) o 2 recent paystubs or a letter of decision from DHS
- Daily transportation to and from Preschool is the responsibility of the parent and NOT provided by the district.

2019-2020 Preschool & Kindergarten Registration Communication and Information
- On Feb 25th we will have interpreters here at the ELSC and encourage all families that need the support to come here to register.
- As we did last year, we are also planning on having additional registration days, later in the spring, at the ELSC with interpreters available. We will again arrange phone calls to go out from our interpreters.
- We also have the information on the CRCSD website and it will be on social media as the date draws closer.

- 25th – No school/No Achievement Academy (AA staff training)
March 2019
- 18th-21st – Spring Break/No School. Full Day Program offered 8am-5pm at JBCH (MUST SIGN UP TO ATTEND and does carry daily fee to attend). Children need to eat breakfast before arriving and should bring a lunch.
- 22nd – No Achievement Academy
- 25th– Summer Day Camp Priority Enrollment begins (must be enrolled in after school program and have all previous/current program fees paid in full to qualify for priority summer enrollment)
