This is my eighth year in public education. I hold a M.S.Ed. in Mental Health and School Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pa., and am Licensed Professional Counselor eligible. Further, I am a National Certified Counselor having passed the NCE and additional rigorous national credentialing requirements. I am certified in the areas of K-12 school counseling, K-6 elementary education, and 7-12 English.
I am currently a school counselor for 250 11th and 12th graders at Coatesville Area Senior High School where I provide academic, career and college counseling, and mental health supportive services. Prior I was a counselor for 550 elementary students in an urban, public school in the School District of Lancaster. My experience also includes teaching and developing curriculum for a K-12 gifted education program in four school buildings, two years of practicum and internship experience in elementary and secondary schools, and a year of experience as a grades 6-8 classroom guidance teacher. Further, I developed the 6-8 classroom guidance curriculum for the course. I have a passion for developing relationships with students, families, and staff in order to support student social, emotional, career, and academic development.
Prior to counseling and teaching, I held professional positions with one independent school and two colleges in the areas of fundraising and alumni relations.
