Broadmoor's Weekly Wildcat News!
Jan. 20-24, 2020
No School on Monday, Jan. 20th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day!
Winter is Just Warming Up!
Dear Broadmoor Families,
It may be cold outside, but we are warming up this winter with so much going on at BES! This week was full of our Broadmoor students showing us their very best! We had lots of screenings going on throughout the school, and the students did awesome! They were very patient and worked so hard. We are proud of their hard work. Our classrooms have started various projects and we've been preparing for our school Spelling Bee at the end of the month.
Just a reminder that this Monday at 2pm, the PTO is hosting a movie matinee at RES. It was originally scheduled for Sunday, but due to the Chiefs game it was moved to Monday. We hope to see you there!
I want to also remind you that we do not accept deliveries for students. This includes flowers or balloons. With Valentine's Day coming up, I wanted to make sure you knew!
Please take a moment to look through this entire newsletter. I have some updates from Nurse Candice, Mrs. McIntire, TeamMates and from Coach Whiting.
Thank you for your continued support and have a wonderful week! May you take some time to remember Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and all of the contributions he made during his lifetime and continues to make.
"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education."

A Note from Nurse Candice:
Flu season is upon us! Please review district policy regarding illness and exclusion from school.
If diagnosed with influenza-please follow your Dr's recommendations. CDC and KDHE recommend stay home for 7 days after the onset of symptoms. Studies have shown a person is still contagious for 7 days. USD 416 influenza policy states, the student must be well enough to attend school, 24 hrs fever free, vomiting free, and diarrhea free without the aid of medication. Encourage your child to wash hands, refrain from touching face, and do not share items such as water bottles or chapstick. Please contact Nurse Candice for any other questions or concerns.
Coach's Corner
This program helps fund some of the fun extras that we love to be able to offer our kids at BES. There are some really fun incentives for the kids - including seeing some of their favorite teachers dress up, dye their hair or even take a slime pie to the face! It's sure to bring some fun to our winter!
If you have any questions, please contact the office or myself. Thank you for your support!
