Upcoming Events & Information for Pleasantdale Families
A Note from the Principal's Office
April 14, 2019
Dear PES Families,
I can't believe I'm writing this newsletter in mid-April watching the snow come down outside! I hope everyone is staying warm and the children are getting a chuckle out of this bonus snowy day!
Thank you to all the families who joined us last Thursday for The ProKids Show. We had an amazing turnout and were pulling out lunch tables to provide extra seating. A special thank you to all our parent volunteers who ended up being part of the show--the children always love seeing their parents on stage. I've posted some pictures below. Please visit our Facebook page for more pictures of the evening.
- All School Picture is scheduled for this Tuesday, April 16th. While the snow may put a damper on these plans, we are hoping that the conditions will improve and we can take the picture. If not we will reschedule for another time. We ask all students to wear something blue. If your child doesn't have anything blue, or it hasn't made it through the wash, they may wear another color. Building off our school theme, Pleasantdale...A Place to Grow, we will be pictured in the form of a giant flower.
- Summer Academy 2019 is still open for registration! Please visit the district website for more information on course offerings and to register. http://www.d107.org/Parents/Summer-Academy
- IAR Testing went smoothly last week. Thank you to our 3rd and 4th graders for their focus during testing and to our parents for helping prepare their children for these tests. We will continue with testing this week (M-W) and will also begin make-up testing for any student who missed a testing session.
- eLearning Day is scheduled for Friday, April 19th. Our first eLearning Day in February was a huge success and we are excited to prepare another eLearning opportunity for our students. Your child's teacher(s) will be sharing information about the learning experiences for your child.
- April 22nd is a regular day of attendance. Please plan to send your child to school. This day of school, and the eLearning days, count as our weather make-up days for the year. Please feel free to contact our front office with any questions.
- Field Trips for many grades are coming up over the next 2 months. Our teachers plan these experiences for our students as another way to enrich the curriculum and your chid's learning. Many of these trips have a fee associated with them which covers the cost of admission. Should your family need assistance covering the cost of a field trip, please contact me directly. I am more than happy to work with families to help all children experience the field trips.
For our students,
Ms. Tomei
