From Mrs. Fowler, our Librarian
All library books are due by May 5th. We will begin issuing invoices on May 15th. If you need to pay for a book, we will put it on the student's school cash to pay. We no longer accept cash or checks.
Chromebook Information: All students will keep their Chromebooks, chargers, and cases over the summer. If a student is withdrawing from Cypress Fairbanks ISD they need to turn in their Chromebook, charger, and case by the last day of school. Fifth graders will take their Chromebooks, charges, and case to the junior high they are attending. The junior high campuses will collect them at the beginning of the school year, to return to Rennell, and the student will then be issued another set.

Medication Pick-Up
As the end of the school year approaches, we would like to remind you to pick up any medications you provided to the school clinic this year. According to CFISD Board policy FFAC (local), medications must be retrieved from the clinic by a parent/guardian or designated responsible adult. Please plan to pick up your student’s medications by May 25th no later than 3:00 p.m. Medications not collected by this deadline will be disposed of according to CFISD policy. Please email the school nurse to schedule an appointment to pick up the medication or let us know that we can go ahead and dispose of the medication at the end of the year.

Credit By Exam
Students in grades K-8 will have four opportunities during the school year to use “credit-by-exam” to accelerate to another grade level or accelerate in math only. Students are permitted to have one opportunity to test for each grade level or math course considered.
To apply to take the test to skip kindergarten, a student must be 5 by September 1, and registered with a CFISD school. To apply to take the test to skip grade 1, a student must be 6 by September 1, and enrolled in a CFISD school.
Students who earn scores of 80% or better on each component of the credit-by-exam for grade level acceleration will qualify to advance one grade.
