Mrs. Fortunato’s Message
Welcome Back and Happy Easter!
This weekend our second graders will be blessed to receive the third sacrament, First Holy Communion. I am so excited to join the celebration during 9:00 am Mass Saturday morning, and I look forward to seeing some of them back at church fully dressed on Sunday too!
We have many exciting events happening this month. On Thursday the teachers and 8th graders challenged one another to four Volleyball games. After much effort and energy the teachers lost all 4! Even Father Edgar, our star player, could not help us from going down hard. It is obvious our 8th graders learned well from Mrs. Hausler. They are skilled, strong, energetic and competitive. They won fair and square! It is hard to believe our wonderful 8th graders are transitioning to high school next year. They have so many amazing things ahead, but it is such a bittersweet change for ICS.
As you may know, we are faced with a reduction in staff for the 2019-2020 school year. Listed below are the faculty changes for next year. Each grade affected is listed with the corresponding teacher assignment. We are hopeful our student population will continue to grow at a steady pace, and we are prepared to facilitate the change over the next couple of years.
Transitional Kindergarten: Mrs. Caywood
Kindergarten: Mrs. Kassebaum
2nd Grade: Mrs. Ziemba
Mrs. Sharp- Religion, 5th grade Social Studies and Academic Support
Ms. Kielce-English Language Arts and Religion
Mr. Puricelli-English Language Arts and Religion
Mrs. Smith-Social Studies and 7th grade Math
Mrs. Dunham- maternity leave for Mrs. Pothast
Please join me in heartfelt prayers and blessings for the teachers listed below who will not be returning to ICS. We thank them and pray for a smooth transition in their futures:
*Mrs. Nenna
*Mrs. Tropeano
*Mrs. Kowalski
*Dr. Bermudez
*Sister Marie
*Mrs. Intrabartolo
Please feel free to make an appointment with me to discuss concerns or ask questions. I will be hosting our last Parent Information Night this month. The date has not been determined. Stay tuned.
